Alex grew up in South Florida and moved to New York 10 years ago for a sushi apprenticeship, spending the last 7 years in Brooklyn. Christina, originally from Melbourne, Australia, moved to New York at 24 and now calls Sunset Park home.
In 2023, they combined their talents to create Kemushi, selling Alex's sushi sauce recipes to make high-quality sushi flavors accessible. Christina left her corporate job, and Alex shifted from Omakase service to focus on their business. Brooklyn is at the heart of Kemushi, from sourcing spices in Sunset Park Chinatown to testing recipes in Bed-Stuy. Their work also connects them to Brooklyn Made, a community they love—especially the Industry City store!
