Where are you from/where did you grow up?

Husband & wife duo, and former restauranteurs, met as neighbors, enjoyed each other’s Dominican and Tunisian cuisine, got married, became parents of twins, and finally launched our restaurant-quality Harissa Hot Honey which friends playfully refer to as The Love Sauce.

Why did you start your business?

We wanted to celebrate our culinary adventures while bringing seductively spicy and authentic flavors to dinner tables near and far. We wanted to bring quality ingredients and bold flavors to both the world traveler that’s intimately familiar with harissa, and those new to the harissa experience..

How does your work connect to Brooklyn?

We first landed on store shelves at a Brooklyn institution (Sahadi’s), but it was the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce who helped us in the early days by connecting us with pro bono creative services to help in the design of our first logo and label. While we are currently in the process of updating the label to better reflect the authenticity of our product (North Africa meets the Caribbean meets NYC), we are forever grateful for the assistance provided by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. Most weekends, you can find us at a Brooklyn popup/food fair, where we share and enjoy the Harissa Hot Honey experience with you!
