Where are you from/where did you grow up?

I was born in France and moved to New York when I was 10 year old. I moved with my parents but my entire family found a love and respect for this culture and we still all live in New York. I moved to Brooklyn in 2010, first in Cobble Hill and moved to my current neighborhood of Clinton Hill in 2013.

Why did you start your business?

I started my photography business in 2001 and my Lea’s Alphabets collection in 2003 after the birth of my first daughter. I was looking for art to decorate her environment that would fit our urban surroundings.

How does your business connect to Brooklyn?

My business has been based in Brooklyn for almost half of its life and I rely on Brooklyn and its neighborhoods for much of my inspiration. My first studio space and gallery were both in Dumbo and I got inspired by its surrounding neighborhoods as I explored more of them for my images. This inspiration continues today.
