Where are you from/where did you grow up?
Grow up in Shanghai, China, I was brought to New York a decade ago by the fantastic opportunities to work with some world class design agencies.
Why did you start your business?
Roughly 7 years ago, I shifted my life focus from studio life to my own mental and physical heath. When I started drawing typographic architectural illustration, I found the process was soothing, calming and helping me to clear my mind so I can enjoy more of my life. Soon I made the decision to quit my job and started Maester.
How does your work connect to Brooklyn?
The Brooklyn Bridge was the first piece of architecture I illustrated and the first landmark I visited when I travelled to NY before settling here. The first was always special and so is Brooklyn.
