Brooklyn Made Youth Entrepreneur Product Proposal

Open Submission

Youth Entrepreneur
Product Proposal

A real retail opportunity — for makers ready to sell.

Retail Opportunity

Brooklyn Made is inviting select participants from Yadestiny Treasure Chest program to submit product proposals for potential retail activation.

Opportunities may include:

  • Summer pop-ups
  • In-store placement at Brooklyn Made
  • Celebrate Brooklyn concert series

This is a direct pathway to retail. Products must be ready to sell.

What We're Looking For

Product Clarity

Your product should be understood in 30 seconds or less. It should have a clear use case and strong gift potential.

Packaging

Packaging should be clean, professional, and self-explanatory. Customers should understand the product without assistance.

Pricing

Your pricing must support retail margins:

  • Wholesale should be approximately 50% of retail
  • Pricing must include labor, materials, packaging, and profit

Production

You must be able to:

  • Produce consistently
  • Restock quickly if the product sells out

Differentiation

Your product should clearly stand out in a crowded market. You should be able to explain why a customer would choose your product over others.

Retail Performance

This is not about exposure. Every product must be able to sell and turn inventory.

What to Submit

1. Line Sheet

Include:

  • Product names
  • Retail and wholesale pricing
  • Variations (size, scent, color, etc.)
  • Product images
  • MOQ (minimum order quantity)

2. Product Descriptions

For each product:

  • What it is
  • Who it's for
  • Why it matters

3. Brand Overview

3–5 sentences that clearly explain your brand and point of view.

4. Production Details

  • Where and how the product is made
  • Production capacity
  • Lead times for restocking

5. Activation Interest

Let us know where you'd like to participate:

  • Celebrate Brooklyn
  • In-store pop-up
  • Live demo or sampling

6. Known Challenges

Be upfront about:

  • Shelf life (especially for food)
  • Production limitations
  • Pricing constraints

Reality Check

Brooklyn Made has reviewed over 600 brands and carries a limited number of makers.

Not all products will be selected. Strong ideas require strong execution.
