Get To Know the Maker
Where are you from/where did you grow up?
I am originally from Detroit. I moved to NYC in the 80’s to go to Parsons School of Design. From the moment I saw the arch in Washington Square I knew I wanted to live in NYC permanently.
Why did you start your business?
I’m obsessed with architecture and endlessly take photos of interesting buildings I use for reference for paintings. I make coasters of my artwork so everyone can take home or gift to a faraway friend of places they love in Brooklyn.
How does your work connect to Brooklyn?
My first home in Brooklyn was on the 25th street next to the entrance to the gothic arches of Greenwood cemetery. I paint wonderful places I find in my daily travels in South Brooklyn with a huge focus on Coney Island, brownstones, bridges and beloved pizza spots.
Celebrate classic Brooklyn history with this vibrant illustration of the iconic Sahadi's market. Meticulously mounted onto a sleek, 1-inch deep wood canvas, this piece offers a clean, frame-free look that beautifully blends nostalgic NYC charm with modern craftsmanship.
The hollow-back panel allows it to hang perfectly flush against a wall or stand upright on any shelf or desk, making it ready to display right out of the shop. Handcrafted by a local maker, this 5" x 7" print is the perfect keepsake or gift for anyone who loves Brooklyn.
