Rui Susan Chen, a Dartmouth MBA graduate, chef, Brooklynite, and world traveler, founded Madame Susan Sauces to bring people together over food. The idea sparked while she led a multi-cultural food camp kitchen at Burning Man, where she recognized the need for versatile sauces that could elevate any meal. Turning that vision into a business plan, she created a range of sauces designed to let home cooks experience the artistry of her cuisine in their own kitchens. Drawing inspiration from her Chinese-Canadian heritage, her travels, and the influence of Julia Child, Chen infuses her recipes with bold global flavors and a touch of French flair.
A clean, fragrant and spicy Sichuan-style Mala Chili Oil with fried chili-crisp bits at the bottom. Made with 20 different spices and aromatics, including the famous, mouth-tingling Sichuan Peppercorn. Add it to your eggs, dumplings, grilled cheese sandwiches, noodle dishes, Sichuan hot pot, or anything that needs a bump of heat and flavor. Spicy. A little bit goes a long way! Refrigerate after opening. Mix well before use! Heat level may vary slightly as we use all natural ingredients.
