Where are you from/where did you grow up?
I was born in Syracuse NY and raised in St. Johns, Arizona. I ended up back in NY because I wanted to be a part of a diverse community like NYC. I love Brooklyn because of the amazing communities and food! I currently live in Ditmas Park.
Why did you start your business?
I started my business encouraged by a group of my college students and family who all fell in love with my granola snack bites. Sharing food is a sacred gift, and I want to offer people healthy food that makes them feel good. I believe if I can do better, I should. It's Nola granola snack bites are a better-for-you snack.
How does your work connect to Brooklyn?
We are a part of Brooklyn. We rent a shared kitchen space in Brooklyn where we meet so many amazingly talented food producers and share our resources and knowledge with them. We literally bring snacks to the staff at our local cafe because we appreciate them. We attend events in Brooklyn. We're members of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. Our product is sold in Brooklyn at the BKLYN Made store in Industry City. We support the Breast Cancer Society's Making Strides of Brooklyn. We are also active politically and socially where we reach out to our legislators to support our community of small businesses through the National Retail Federation. We're here to support Brooklyn in any way we can.
