Where are you from/where did you grow up?
I was born in New York, to only be raised in South Korea for the next 17 years, then one day I decided it was time to return to my birthplace in 2003. What was supposed to be a short path down memory lane, many years later I am still here and reside in Bed-Stuy, I guess it's love!
Why did you start your business?
In all honesty Namasei was just a dream/joke, I just really loved yoga and candle making. Namasei was born from my passions of yoga and candle making - both of which were ways for me to escape the craziness that is life, and allowed me to relax and calm my mind. Through Namasei, I hope to provide/share a way for people to take a break from their busy lives and find a few moments of peace and tranquility.
How does your work connect to Brooklyn?
Brooklyn has the perfect vibe and environment that allows one to express and discover oneself. It is where I cultivated my passion for yoga, discovered candle making, and Brooklyn gave me the perfect platform for me to connect the two arts. There would be no Namasei, if there wasn't a Brooklyn.
