Brooklyn Cannery by Lauren & Maciej "Mac"
- Where are you from/where did you grow up? Maciej is originally from Poland and immigrated to the US when he was young. Lauren is from Kansas City, we have each been in NYC for 15+ years.
- If not Brooklyn (or NYC), why did you end up here? We both loved NYC growing up and were drawn here to go to school and to begin our careers - Maciej in the Architecture/Design Industry and Lauren in the Performing Arts/Entertainment Industry.
- Why did you start your business? We began the copacker to produce our first beverage in 2019 and have grown the facility ever since to meet the lower-minimum needs of other emerging and evolving brands. We launched our Brooklyn Cannery Prebiotic Soda line after discovering how much we both love gut-healthy functional foods. Yogurt, Kefir, and Kimchi have been staples in our daily diets but we struggled to find a beverage that met our taste buds' needs - a beverage with class pop undertones with fun and sophisticated layers. After months of experimenting we launched what BevNet dubbed BevNet's Best of Beverage 2022 - "some of the best tasting CSDs we've tried in a while". The beverages have become the perfect complement to our already rich diet of prebiotics and probiotics. Brooklyn Cannery was born in the heart of the beverage market...Brooklyn has given us the opportunity to grow the business sustainably each year as a manufacturer and as a family of functional beverage brands. Brooklyn Cannery prebiotic sodas are inspired by the classic soda flavors we all grew up loving with a modern, good for your gut twist. We look forward to continuing to scale our facility and to hire more folks from/in Brooklyn. We are honored to be one of the few beverages on the market to be able to note "Made in Brooklyn" on our products and look forward to growing here for years to come.
