Artist Bio: Ahmrii Johnson (b. 2000, Lakeland, FL) is a Bahamian American fashion designer and multidisciplinary artist whose work fuses Caribbean craft, botanical science, and indigenous wisdom into ethereal, narrative-driven designs. Drawing from her heritage, lived experiences, and biblical text, Johnson transforms textiles and garments into stories that bridge art, fashion, and spiritual reflection. A Parsons School of Design BFA graduate in Fashion Design, Johnson’s practice blends surrealist narratives with tactile techniques, including hand-treated fabrics and exaggerated silhouettes inspired by fashion illustration. Her designs harmonize geometric and organic forms, reflecting a thoughtful balance of movement, structure, and intention. Johnson explores endurance, gratitude, and the resilience of the human spirit—concepts that continue to inform her approach to fashion. She creates garments that celebrate Caribbean artisans, sustainability, and the tangible transformation clothing can have for underserved communities, while offering wearers a way to connect with culture, ethics, and intention. Her work has been featured with Tommy Bahama, Teen Vogue, and Highsnobiety, as well as Hyacinth Gallery.
