Celebrate Black History Month with Brooklyn Made’s Trunk Sale and Meet the Makers and Artists Events
Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn Made is proud to announce its Black History Month Trunk Sale, celebrating Black entrepreneurship and creativity throughout February and into early March. This month-long event will feature unique products from local Black-owned businesses and provide an opportunity to support these incredible makers and connect with the community.
Trunk Sale Details:
The Trunk Sale will be held in The Corner Gallery areas of Brooklyn Made stores, showcasing an array of exceptional products. Visitors can discover one-of-a-kind items while celebrating the vibrant culture of Black business owners in Brooklyn.
Meet the Makers and Artists Events:
Join us for two special evenings to meet the talented makers and artists behind the brands and art. Hear their stories, learn about their creations, and celebrate their contributions to Brooklyn’s entrepreneurial and creative landscape.
City Point: Thursday, February 6th | 6–8 PM
Industry City: Friday, February 7th | 6–8 PM
Featured Artists:
EASY – A renowned Brooklyn-based artist, EASY is a key figure in the graffiti movement, known for his subway chalkboard battles with Keith Haring and his iconic handstyle. His work has been featured in global music videos, museums, and books, and he recently contributed to the reconstruction of Jean-Michel Basquiat's studio.
Eric Orr – A pioneer of graffiti art, Eric Orr is best known for his “robot head” iconography. He collaborated with Keith Haring in the 80s and created the first Hip-Hop comic book, “Rappin’ Max Robot.” His work is in the permanent collections of Cornell and Columbia Universities.
Rameen Gasery – A self-published author and sound designer, Rameen is a multifaceted artist whose work spans visual art and music. He was also the Executive Photographer for the Broadway musical FELA! produced by Jay-Z, Will Smith, and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
VIC.INVADES – A pioneer in urban exploration photography, Victor captures New York City’s hidden spaces, from subway tunnels to abandoned factories. His work, featured in The New York Times Op-Doc series, invites viewers to see overlooked places through an artistic lens.
Voodo Fé – Known for his wood-based artworks, Voodo Fe is a renaissance artist who creates paintings, clothing, and music that reflect his journey of overcoming personal challenges. His creations are inspired by Brooklyn’s raw energy and emphasize individuality, resilience, and freedom.
Featured Makers:
Camille Newman – Body by Love: Ultra-plush, extra-large towels designed to redefine self-care and comfort.
Keishon Warren – BKLYN BLEND: Caribbean-inspired smoothies, juices, and vegan treats, including the limited-edition “Love Thy Community” Vans.
Marc Littlejohn – Littlejohn: Unique handcrafted odor-masking leather accessories.
Roselyn Shiyenze – Shiyenze: African-inspired fashion and accessories, bringing elegance and culture to modern style.
Shanice Black – Ting a Ling: Jamaican jerk sauce and marinade, adding flavor and spice to any dish.
These in-store events offer the chance to shop directly from the makers and artists while enjoying refreshments and fostering connections in a welcoming environment. Brooklyn Made invites all to join in celebrating the creativity, passion, and resilience of Black entrepreneurs.
